Raw Material Size Reduction Before pellet or briquette compression can take place, the raw material must be reduced to a suitable particle size. Depending on the raw material size, a one or two stage size reduction process will be needed. Chipper / Crusher Introduction Depending on your chosen raw material, the equipment you require for size reduction may change. For example if you wish to process logs or large pieces of wood into pellets or briquettes a chipper / crusher is the first piece of equipment required for size reduction. A chipper / Crusher simply works on the principle of a rotating blade. As the wood comes into contact with the blade, small pieces (chips) are removed. The chips produced are generally still too large to be used in the briquette machine or pellet mill, therefore secondary particle size reduction of the chips is required in a hammer mill. X Series Industrial Chippers The X Series Industrial Chippers are heavy duty chipping solutions. The power input ranges from 15 to 45Kw, with a productivity of 1 to 3 tons per hour. A heavy steel frame construction will ensure consistent chipping performance of logs up to 250mm in diameter. FSP Series Industrial Hammer Mills The FSP Series Industrial Hammer Mills are made from heavy duty steel plate. To improve performance in processing large quantities of wood chips, a wider crushing chamber is included. The FSP series also features thickened knives to improve functionality. |

X Series Combined Chipping and Hammer Mill Solution For efficient processing of large volumes of wood to a suitable particle size for briquette or pellet production, there is the combined X Series Chipping and Hammer Mill Solution. A comparable productivity output X Series Chipper is matched with a FSP Series Hammer Mill. The process starts with the wood entering the chipper, the chips are then lifted up to the storage hopper. A variable speed auger then feeds the hammer mill at a consistent rate. The finished particles are then lifted from the base of the hammer mill, via a fan to the cyclone separator. A rotary valve then releases the particles for possible drying and pellet production. |
