What’s The Cheapest Cookshack Pellet Grill?
Currently, the cheapest Cookshack pellet grill is the PG500 which is a horizontal stainless steel unit which retails for just over $1,800 typically. The PG500 features a rather unique double hinged door design instead of the typical lift up lid typically found on horizontal pellet grills.
What’s The Most Expensive Cookshack Pellet Grill?
The most expensive Cookshack pellet grill is the PG1000 which is a horizontal stainless steel unit which typically retails for just under $3,000. Slightly larger than the PG500, however, the main reason for the higher price point is the dual-wall insulated construction which will provide more predictable cooking results during the colder times of the year and also below average pellet consumption.
What’s The Smallest Cookshack Pellet Grill?
The PG500 is Cookshacks smallest pellet grill currently providing a total cooking area of 784 sq.in inches divided up with 504 sq.in over the main cooking grate with an additional 280 sq.in provided by an upper smoking/warming rack.

The PG1000 is Cookshacks largest pellet grill currently providing a total cooking area of 784 sq.in inches divided up with 504 sq.in over the main cooking grate with an additional 280 sq.in provided by an upper smoking/warming rack. Now, you may have noticed that I’ve provided exactly the same cooking area details for the PG500. The reason being in terms of cooking areas both models are identical. However the PG1000 is physically larger with its twin side shelves, and it also weighs more due to its double-wall construction.
Which Cookshack Pellet Grill Get’s The Hottest?
Both the PG500 and the PG1000 feature the same internal components and control panel. Therefore, both of these current Cookshack pellet grills have the same maximum temperature setting of 600 degrees.

Cookshack are very proud of the fact all their pellet grills/smokers are manufactured/fabricated in the USA at their factory located in Ponca City, Oklahoma. To quote from the Cookshack website ‘Cookshack chooses not to go to a foreign manufacturer for any of our products so we can control materials and quality. We want to give you a well-made smoker all while supporting the US economy.‘
Does Cookshack Produce Portable Pellet Grills?
No, Cookshack doesn’t currently produce a portable pellet grill. All of their current products are full-sized backyard pellet grills/smokers and larger units for commercial users.
Does Cookshack Produce Vertical Pellet Smokers?
Yes, in fact, Cookshack is currently the only manufacturer that I’m aware of at least who produces a full-stainless steel vertical pellet smoker, the FEC100. The FEC100 is also one of the largest vertical pellet smokers currently on the market, providing a total cooking area of 1,564 sq.in. Being full-stainless steel its also a premium product priced just under $5K. While available for residential/domestic customers, its mainly targeted at commercial customers, restaurants etc.
Does Cookshack Produce Built-In Pellet Grills/Smokers?
No, rather uniquely for a full-stainless steel pellet grill manufacturer Cookshack is yet to offer any of their pellet grills as a built-in unit for an outdoor kitchen setup.
Does Cookshack Produce Pellet/Gas Combo Pellet Grills?
No, Cookshack does not currently offer pellet/gas combo grills. However, as Cookshack pellet grills have a high maximum temperature setting of 600 degrees and direct-flame access, the high heat from a gas burner is not really a requirement for better searing results.
Does Cookshack Produce Stainless Steel Pellet Grills/Smokers?
Yes, the entire Cookshack pellet grill/smoker range is full-stainless steel. Cookshack use various grades of stainless steel in their construction include 201, 304 and 430. Grades 430 and 201 are not as corrosion resistant as 304-grade stainless steel (yes, some grades of stainless steel can rust). Therefore, Cookshack pellet grills even though they are stainless steel will need some maintenance to keep them looking their best.
Does Cookshack Produce Twin-Wall Insulated Pellet Grills/Smokers?
Yes, both the horizontal pellet grill/smoker the PG1000 and the vertical pellet smoker the FEC100 feature double wall construction with Spin-Glas® Insulation rated to 850 degrees between the two layers of stainless steel. However, the cheaper PG500 does not feature double wall construction, and hence it best suited as purely a warm-weather pellet grill/smoker.
Do Cookshack Pellet Grills Come With WiFi/App Support?
No, currently none of the pellet grills/smokers in the Cookshack range feature WiFi/App support.
Do Cookshack Pellet Grills Come With PID Control Panels?
No, while the Cookshack control panels are digital and very sophisticated they are not using a PID algorithm for constant measuring and adjustment to achieve a stable internal temperature. To get a Cookshack pellet grill performing its best may require adjustment/modifying the LHt (Low Heat time) and HHt (High Heat time) settings.
Do Cookshack Pellet Grills Offer Direct-Flame Access?
Yes, both the PG500 and the PG1000 offer an area on the left of the cooking grate for direct-flame access. Therefore, while the maximum temperature setting on the grills is 600 degrees, at the cooking grate over the fire pot the temperatures will be much higher. Likely closer to 700 degrees at the grate.
