What’s The Cheapest Memphis Grills Pellet Grill?
The cheapest Memphis pellet grill is currently the Beale Street which is a compact full-stainless steel pellet grill for just under $2K. Now, I know what some of you may be saying ‘$2K isn’t cheap!’ and I’m with you on that one. The point is though that Memphis Grills is firmly a luxury-focused brand. Within that context, a full-stainless steel pellet grill for under $2K is a good deal if you want a full-stainless steel pellet grill.
What’s The Most Expensive Memphis Grills Pellet Grill?
The most expensive Memphis pellet grill is the 39″ diameter Elite with a lower cabinet made in 304-grade stainless steel for just under $5,400. It is worth noting, the same 39″ Elite model is available as a built-in unit for outdoor kitchen setups for just under $5K which is a significant part of the Memphis Grills customer base.
What’s The Smallest Memphis Grills Pellet Grill?
The smallest Memphis pellet grill is the Beale Street with a 26″ diameter and a total cooking area of 558 sq.in, with 429 sq.in dedicated to the main cooking grate with a further 129 sq.in provided by an upper smoking/warming rack.
What’s The Largest Memphis Grills Pellet Grill?
Either the Elite 39″ freestanding or built-in pellet grills are Memphis Grills largest offering currently. They provide a main grilling area of 844 sq.in, which’s sufficient for cooking roughly 20 burgers at a time.
Which Memphis Grill Pellet Grill Get’s The Hottest?
You will find the hottest temperature setting on either of the Memphis Elite pellet grills at 700 degrees. The slightly more affordable/lower specification Memphis Pro pellet grills have a maximum temperature setting of 650 degrees with the cheapest/smallest Memphis pellet grill the Beale Street providing a maximum temperature of 550 degrees.
What’s The Warranty On Memphis Grills Pellet Grills?
Memphis Grills offer a 5 to 7-year warranty term depending on the pellet grill in question. The larger/more expensive Memphis Elite and Pro models come with a 7-year warranty term, whereas the smaller/cheaper Beale Street comes with a 5-year warranty term. However, its important to note on all Memphis Grills the warranty of electrical components is only 3-years.
Where Are Memphis Grills Pellet Grills Made?
Right, so up until recently Memphis Grills were made in the USA. However, the company has stated due to ‘continued growth and the need for greater production capacity‘ they have moved manufacturing to Asia. Though Memphis is still a US-based company, and they employ US staff for design, engineering, testing as well as service centre roles.
Does Memphis Grills Produce Portable Pellet Grills?
No, Memphis Grills do not currently produce a portable pellet grill. As Memphis is currently firmly focused on high-end/luxury products I’m not sure where their brand would fit in the portable pellet grill segment which is dominated by lower-cost/affordable models. But who knows, they may decide to develop the first full-stainless steel portable pellet grill at some point.
Does Memphis Grills Produce Vertical Pellet Smokers?
No, Memphis Grills are currently focused on producing luxury horizontal pellet grills/smokers. There is currently one brand (Cookshack) producing a full-stainless steel vertical pellet smoker, but that’s really a commercially targeted product. I don’t believe there to be a big domestic market for a luxury domestic full-stainless steel vertical pellet smoker, hence I wouldn’t expect such a product from Memphis Grills anytime soon.
Does Memphis Grills Produce Built-In Pellet Grills/Smokers?
Yes, built-in pellet grills for outdoor kitchens is a key product range for Memphis Grills. Both the Memphis Elite and Memphis Pro are available as built-in models. As I’m writing this FAQ the Beale Street is not available as a built-in model, however, I do expect that to change in the near future so the entire Memphis Grills range is available as a built-in option.
Does Memphis Grills Produce Pellet/Gas Combo Pellet Grills?
No, Memphis Grills do not currently produce a pellet/gas combo pellet grill. However, really, they don’t need to. The maximum temperature settings on the Pro and Elite models of 650 and 700 degrees respectively are higher than most pellet grills, negating the need for gas. Also, all Memphis Grills can be set up for direct-flame grilling, offering even higher temperatures at the grate.
Does Memphis Grills Produce Stainless Steel Pellet Grills/Smokers?
Yes, in fact, Memphis Grills only produce full-stainless steel pellet grills/smokers. However, it is important to note there are different grades of stainless steel used. For instance, the entry-level Beale Street is made from 430-grade stainless steel, whereas the more expensive/higher specification Pro and Elite models are made from 304-grade stainless steel. In coastal climates for example with salty humid air 430-grade stainless steel is more prone to surface corrosion, also known as ‘pitting’. Therefore, if the Beale Street is used in such coastal climates, more maintenance will be required to keep the grill looking its best.
Does Memphis Grills Produce Twin-Wall Insulated Pellet Grills/Smokers?
Yes, all Memphis Grills including the Beale Street, Pro and Elite models feature dual-wall sealed construction for better heat retention which will also result in below-average pellet consumption. What this also means is that all of the Memphis pellet grills can be used all year round, even in winter without the need for an insulated blank to maintain a steady internal temperature.
Do Memphis Grills Come With WiFi/App Support?
Yes, all Memphis pellet grills come with integrated WiFi/App support to not only monitor the temperature within the pellet grill but to also make temperature adjustments, set timers etc. Each Memphis Grill also comes with several high-quality meat temperature probes which can be connected to the control panel and monitored through the Memphis App. So you can effectively monitor and adjust the cook from any location with a WiFi/Cellular connection.
Do Memphis Grills Come With PID Control Panels?
Yes, all Memphis pellet grills are using PID algorithms to constantly monitor and compare the internal temperature inside the pellet grill against the set temperature. The control panel can then make small adjustments to the pellet feed auger and fan to maintain the temperature within 5-degrees of the set temperature. However, Memphis does not refer to PID algorithms in their sales literature, they state their control panels are using ITC (Intelligent Temperature Control), but its essentially a PID algorithm.
Do Memphis Grills Offer Direct-Flame Access?
Yes, all Memphis Grills from the Beal Street to the more expensive Pro and Elite models offer the capability of direct-flame access, however, it doesn’t come as standard on the Beale Street. For the direct-flame access feature to function a centre plate is removed from the grease tray and replaced with a grate with holes to let the flames through. However, on the Beale Street the ‘Direct Flame Insert‘ is not included within the grill, and has to be purchased separately.
Do Memphis Grills Offer Easy Ash Clean Out?
Sort of, all Memphis grills have easily removable grease/ashtrays that will collect the majority of the ash. However, every now and again you will want to remove the cooking grates, grease drip tray/flavorizer and get into the base of a Memphis pellet grill once cool with a shop vac to clean out ash around/within the burn pot.
Do Memphis Grills Grills Come With A Hopper Pellet Dump?
No, to change pellets on any Memphis Grill currently it will require you to remove the top grate on the hopper and get in there with some sort of scoop/cup to get the pellets out. Due to the location of the hoppers/design of Memphis Grills the hoppers are well integrated to make a slim/sleek design, however, it has made integrating a pellet dump door practically impossible. However, then again Memphis Grills only have small hoppers (12lbs on the Beale Street) as they only need small hoppers due to their higher than average combustion efficiency due to the dual-wall insulated construction. Therefore, it shouldn’t take long to scoop out the pellets on any Memphis Grill.
